THE HOPEFUL CHORUS LINE (Released 2010)

'The Hopeful Chorus Line' is an album by The Finishing School that takes you on a melodic, broody journey; one which is as beautiful as it is intense. The songs weave in and out of each other-skill-fully drawing in the listener with poetic stories about love, loss, freedom and democracy. This is an album that makes you want to listen to it over and over again.... and then some.

Violinist and vocalist Emily Combe fronts The Finishing School alongside Thom Combe. She brings to the band classically trained violin and jazz voice from the Adelaide Conservatorium of Music. Her vocals have been likened to artists such as Tori Amos and Katie Noonan and her violin playing is both edgy and soulful.

Thom is a truly eclectic musician; playing several instruments including lead electric, acoustic guitar, trumpet and vocals. Thom has also trained in Jazz Trumpet at the Conservatorium.

Lyndon Gray plays upright and electric bass. Lyndon graduated with honors from the Conservatorium and is a very well known player in the Australian music scene.

Andrew Gaborit completes the rhythm section, playing both kit and percussion. Originally hailing from Sydney, Andrew is a seasoned drummer who completes the sound of The Finishing School.
