Corciolli
Biography
Corciolli’s music is inspired and unique. Corciolli strives to unite the traditional to the contemporary; the acoustic to the electronic. Praised by many Brazilian reviewers for his compositions, arrangements and recordings, Corciolli is considered to be one of the most remarkable Brazilian artists in his genre.
Born in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, he began his musical studies at 13 and while studying electronic organ and classical piano, developed a deep interest in synthesizers. From 1986 to 1990, he attended college to study architecture. While attending college, working as a professional musician, performing with Brazilian master bass player Celso Pixinga and the popular Espirito Cigano.
In 1993, Corciolli founded the Azul Music record company and produced his first CD recording “ALL THAT BINDS US.” Next came “UNIO MYSTICA,” a musical suite in 7 movements that presented alchemical texts in Latin, Gregorian chants and orchestral arrangements. UNIO MYSTICA brought Corciolli international acclaim when it was Blessed by Pope John Paul II and released in 27 countries. In 1996, Corciolli was invited by the Tibetan Monks of Gaden Shartse to perform for two memorable nights at the Latin America Memorial, in São Paulo, Brazil. This led to a recording of the album “THE NEW MOON OF EAST,” an exquisite meeting between Tibetan sacred music and western music. In 2000, he released the Tudoazul collection; ten albums inspired by alternative therapies based on acknowledged ancient ancestral knowledge. The entire collection became a national best-seller for Corciolli.
Other popular recordings include “EXOTIQUE” (1998), “UNIO CELESTIA” (1999), “ART OF SEDUCTION” (2001) and “UM OLHAR” (A Glance) (2004). In addition to producing and distributing albums throughout the world, his music is featured in collections with Vangelis, Yossou N´Dour, Dead Can Dance, Hans Zimmer, Secret Garden, Era, Enigma, Sarah Brightman, Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras, Kitaro, Placido Domingo, and others.
For Corciolli, music should not have limits imposed, or rules, or styles. It needs to move — and to charm on its own.

Music from the spiritual dwelling
Corciolli’s newest CD is inspired by the Brazilian best-seller “The Astral City”
In his new and fascinating album, world renowned composer/keyboardist Corciolli has created 14 instrumental tracks, inspired by the book “The Astral City.” Written by renowned medium Francisco Cândido Xavier, and considered a true classic in spiritualist literature, “The Astral City” has sold over 1.5 million copies in Brazil.
“When I first read ‘The Astral City’ about 20 years ago — and again recently — the depth of its teachings touched me. The spiritual dwelling described in the book brought forth an amazing array of images and feelings I tried to translate into music.” — Corciolli
One of the main concepts addressed in the book is the belief that life goes on after the death of the physical body. Based around that theme, Corciolli developed his first ideas using electronic synthesizers along with piano and harp acoustic sonorities and a variety of orchestral timbres. In his 1996 production “The New Moon of East-Azul Music,” Corciolli presents the sacred chants and mantras of the Tibetan Monks of Gaden Shartse. Corciolli continues to express his fondness for spiritual themes in “The Astral City” by using the universal language of music to call forth feelings of beauty and everlasting knowledge.
The arrangements were created in a diversity of sound including a string ensemble made up of members from internationally acclaimed orchestras. Corciolli explains, “The result exceeds all expectations. Not only new, subtle, beautiful shades were incorporated to the arrangements, but it all was taken to a higher level of emotional expression.” The album blends, with grace and lightness, moments of nostalgia, lovingness and enchantment, giving the listener the sensation of joy before the Divine Creation.
Corciolli is currently exploring invitations to perform “The Astral City” with a full orchestra. “That will be a wonderful challenge” he says.
